As a follow-up to our rumor report (and hints) from November 2018, word is we can look forward to (at least) 3 vehicles at retail for the Vintage Collection in 2019. Two are Original Trilogy related and the third is from Episode IX. More as we learn more…

We have what I think is a fun little exercise in “guess the Black Series figures” coming out in 2019. I’ve posted a series of 12 clues after the break to help narrow the field to the 3 characters. Ready? Set? Guess!

As an adult 3.75″ collector since 1995, I’ve seen Hasbro approach figure articulation and aesthetics in many forms… and here were are almost 25 years later, and it seems in some ways, Hasbro has taken a step back with aesthetics (at least compared to figures from 10 years ago).
What I mean is articulation is needed – I love when figures have a wide range of ball joints – but there are some times when it feels as though Hasbro goes overboard, especially with how they are engineering the hips on figures now. In some cases, it’s fine – but it doesn’t seem like Hasbro is in the “Goldilocks Zone” anymore when it comes to articulation… it’s either too little (5poa style) , or too much.
Thoughts? Do you like the way these figures are designed these days, or to do prefer the style from about 10 years ago? Share your opinions here or in the forums!
The biggest complaint so far with Hasbro’s Galaxy of Adventures figures is the laziness in execution stemming from the recycling of previously used sculpts for the first two waves. Things may be changing in that regard in late 2019 as more new figures are introduced as well as vehicles and beasts. What is even more interesting is that we’re hearing of a potential scale change too (comparable scale and price to the 5” Marvel Infinity War line). That would essentially mean that there wouldn’t be two competing 3.75” lines vying for collectors dollars with just the Vintage Collection remaining. Toyfair 2019 is next month so we’ll have to see how/if/when this plays out.
Custom playsets master Empire Toy Works has several listings in his eBay store right now, check them out and add to your 3.75″ scale collections by clicking on the above images, or share your thoughts in the forums!
Entertainment Earth has opened preorders for Funko’s new ROTJ Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader Vynl Figure Set. Look for it to start shipping next month.
It’s been a while since the latest chapter, but I’m finally starting to make some progress on the next installment in The Enloe Trials photonovel series.
