Disney Publishing Worldwideis proud to announce their first step into that larger world, beginning with Del Rey Books. The publishing program will feature new adult fiction novels set in the beloved galaxy far, far away, and will be closely connected to the cinematic entertainment currently in development at Lucasfilm.

John Jackson Miller has shared official details for his upcoming Star Wars Rebels adult tie-in novel that takes place prior to the events of the series. Star Wars: A New Dawn features main characters Kanan and Hera and will be available in September.
PS. I guess you can cross “A New Dawn” off the list for potential Episode VII titles.
Lucasfilm via StarWars.com officially announced today that Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same stories told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. Popular stories will be kept in print as needed but under a new Star Wars Legends banner. Head to the official site for the full story and video.
ANOVOS Productions LLC has announced an exclusive line of Star Wars costumes that will be available for pre-order starting on May the 4th. They are kicking things off with costumes from The Empire Strikes Back including Luke’s Bespin Outfit and Han Solo’s iconic look, with Darth Vader coming this summer. The line doesn’t stop there as they have a line of armor-based costumes in the works as well with everything from stormtroopers, biker scouts and sandtroopers to clones and Jango Fett. One of my local collector friends from JediDefender ran into this Star Wars themed beer last night at a local liquor store: Dark Fatha American Emperial Stout from Bent Brewstillery from right here in Minnesota. I guess I know where I’m going tonight.
Next up in our Disney Star Wars Event focus are children’s costumes. The line starts off with Darth Vader and the Stormtrooper for $59.95 each which be available in various size runs (S, M, L, XL). Similar to Hasbro Titanium Series line, these vehicles consist of all metal construction, moving parts and have a price range of $9.95 for the smaller vehicles to $19.95 for the larger or “Deluxe” offerings. Next up in our Disney Star Wars Event focus are the porcelain character mugs. Each design varies in size and scale to reflect the character portrayed i.e. R2-D2 mug is short and squat, Chewbacca mug tall and thin.
