SSC_maul_preorder

First revealed back in July, Sideshow is now accepting preorders for their 1:6 Scale Darth Maul: Duel on Naboo figure.

Starting with a remarkable portrait likeness, Sideshow Collectibles’ Darth Maul ‘Duel on Naboo’ Sixth Scale Figure captures every detail of the unforgettable villain as portrayed by Ray Park, from his red and black tattooed flesh, to his sinister yellow eyes and crown of horns. Trained as Darth Sidious’ first apprentice, the vicious warrior wields his distinctive double-bladed lightsaber with removable blades, ready to seek revenge on the Jedi in an epic duel on Naboo.

Toyguide Update: MH15 Darth Maul

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the next addition for the 2012 “Darth Maul” product line. We continue with another “new” figure in the Movie Heroes assortment: Darth Maul

PROS: Nice head sculpt and facial deco. Action feature does work well making this a fine “toy”.

CONS: Sub-standard articulation at is what is now a “premium price”. You’ll spend about as much time playing with this figure as he had screen time in Episode I.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

Toyguide Update: VC84 Queen Amidala

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Queen Amidala (VC84) from The Vintage Collection.

PROS: This particular figures scratches one of the often-requested costumes  off the “must have” list for Padmé. There is an amazing amount of detail in the sculpt itself and the likeness is spot on with Natalie Portman. Hasbro even went the extra mile to sculpt her some real (non-articulated) legs that are far more detailed than necessary but nice none the less.

CONS: The articulation, while generous, is completely unnecessary for a figure of this type. Posing of the arms in any position other than straight down looks “funny” due to the plastic sculpt of sleeves.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

New MTT Image Revealed

While doing some sleuthing tonight, I discovered that a certain big box store *cough* Walmart *cough* has possibly inadvertently posted an image of the upcoming MTT Droid Carrier on their website. If you head over to their Star Wars section and scroll through the 3D images you’ll notice one of them is in fact the MTT. You’ll also notice that the Battle Droids included in this set are all upright, which conflicts with the reports that most of them were in their collapsed/storage mode.

Also of interest, since this is being shown on Walmart’s site that seems to negate the possibility of this being an exclusive to Target. Click the image above for a closer look.
