Variation hunters take note. Our friends at Rebelscum are reporting that a running change is in the works for the Revenge of the Sith Anakin Skywalker card back. It will be changed to the more appropriate “Darth Vader” nameplate. No word on if this change will apply to both the standard and foil stamped “UGH” card backs.

SDCC News from the Floor: Hasbro
We’re just got off of a short QnA with the fine folks at Hasbro in order to clear up a few inquiries we’ve had regarding all the news from SDCC.
UGH Vintage Collection Variants:
There has been rumblings that there are UGH specific paint variants for the some of the foil card back “chase” figures this year. Some were wondering about Anakin Skywalker specifically as the face/head sculpt seems quite different in terms of paint and expression.
Answer: Hasbro has clarified this and there will be NO paint variants. Anakin on both the standard and UGH will both feature the same sculpt/deco both with the “Sith eyes” treatment.
Luke Skywalker – Jedi Knight Card Back Portrait
People have questioned exactly which cardback portrait will be used for the new Jedi Luke.
Answer: Hasbro has confirmed that they made a huge error in this regard as this figure is intended to represent the “Endor Surrender” scene in Return of the Jedi, but the design used the wrong art when designing the card and it will depict his appearance from Jabba’s Palace – just like the 1983 Kenner version.
Senate Commandos Removable Helmets?
Some have wondered if the helmets on the new Senate Commando/Captain Jayfon are removeable.
Answer: No they are not.
Wicket and the Interchangeable Hood
Some folks wonder what the new Wicket looks like with the alternate hood.
Answer: For the answer, head to Facebook.

Vintage Wave One Found at Target
According to a trusty source at Coreplanets.com, at least one St. Louis area Target has started putting the new vintage figures on the pegs. They seem to be ringing up fine at the registers and are priced at $7.99.
So, if you don’t have a Target in your area and haven’t found these yet, it might be worth your while to swing by your local Target to see if you can score these for yourself.
Sneak Preview: Hasbro’s 2010 Jabba the Hutt
As we gear up for Comic Con, let’s take a look at the new Jabba the Hutt.
So what’s in store?
Packaging: Standard to all the Shadow the the Darkside packaging, Captain Rex overlooks the dark sky and we are given an amazing piece of art of everything that is contained in the box: Jabba, throne, Salacious Crumb, and Oola the Dancing Girl!
So what about the figure set itself?:
The throne is all new with rolling wheels and GREAT sculpting detail on the surface. The gargoyle heads on the front and sides look great but are TINY. They do have real metal rings though! The hooka is just a rehash of what we got in the SAGA Ultra set….nothing new there. Thrown in for a little decoration is eight pillows of various colors and sizes, a suprise (but welcomed) touch!
Salacious Crumb is a slight retool on the Crumb that was included with the TAC C-3PO. Well sculpted, but sits awakwardly on the throne (because he was sculpted to be sitting on C-3PO’s shoulders).
Oola is the stand out hit from the whole set. All new sculpt, super articulated and soft goods outfit (yes, you can even recreate the infamous breast reveal shot from the film). The body of the figure is just a “blank” female body (think Barbie but green).
Jabba himself is all new, beautifully sculpted (even includes the tail scar and the arm tattoo). He has articulation in the head and arms and a “bendy” tail. However…………there is a HUGE flaw with this figure. The body is hollow and the material is a VERY, VERY thin rubbery material covering the body (anyone remember those horrible talking Yodas from the past) that’s what we are dealing with here. Do not be surprised if the body splits and tears over time. MAJOR disappointment.
Overall, pleased with the set, will make a great diorama, and by far the most accurate Jabba to date!
Stay tuned into Yakface as we begin to unload the secrets at San Diego Comic Con 2010! For all the photos, be sure to visit our Facebook page with the complete preview gallery!
Kul Teska Invades Toys”R”Us
The new goods continue to pour in at Toys”R”Us – including the massive Separatist scientist, Kul Teska!
Unless Toys”R”Us runs a promotion, this sucker is going to set you back $14.99… but by the pic above, you can see just how big he is compared to Wat Tambor… but you can decide for yourself if he’s worth it after the jump!
