As a follow up to our report earlier this week, I was able to find the code names for the two new Carbonized Vintage Collection figures as well as locate a third with each having geometric angle codes: “Acute”, “Right” and “Obtuse”. Also of interest, these are shipping to distribution centers NOW.
Update: price on these is $18.97 each
I’ve been doing some research and conferring with sources over the past few days to get some sort of grasp on what may (and may not) be revealed and available for preorder tomorrow. That being said, take what I say with a grain of salt to tamp down lofty expectations.

A couple weeks ago, we told you about the “Cheetah” animal code name discovered as part of the upcoming slate of 2021/2022 Black Series figures. We can now add “Elephant” and “Elk” to the growing list of mystery figures. Thanks to Irwin for the heads up.
In the wee hours of the early morning, I managed to find 5 new Black Series listings that are currently en route from China. They are of course coded to protect their identities from being revealed but they should start popping into the retailer databases soon. Note that 6 per case breakdown for the “seasonal” figures and 8 per case breakdown for “martial arts” figures. The above SKUs are different from the “Sun”, “Wind”, “Rain” and “Snow” which we reported last month, so they are not duplicates of those.
The products have been added to our 2020/2021 Master List.
UPDATE: I have learned the identities of the 5 above figures plus a sixth. None of the figures are new but do feature deco enhancements or are repaints. They are NOT Carbonized, Credit Collection, Gaming Greats or Deluxe figures.
Armed with some UPC/EAN info, I ventured into Target today to see I could get a hit on the Black Series figures that we exclusively reported on Monday. Low and behold the info is in Target’s system – and it confirms the code names.
With this info some theories can be proposed:
– The price point is indicative of these being exclusive.
– These are individual DPCIs that are not part of an assortment so could they be another wave of Galaxy’s Edge items??? (These figures are also exclusive to ToysRUs in Canada – the retail partner for GE merch in that country.)
– Walmart received an exclusive wave of figures for The Clone Wars – could this be something similar???
DPCIs have been added to our extensive UPC/DPCI/SKU Master List.
I posted this comparison earlier via social media and I think it’s worthy of discussion here as well. If you take into consideration all of our rumored /unconfirmed Vintage Collection (TVC) and Black Series (TBS) action figure related items coming between now through 2021, the lines look as follows:
TVC: 31 rumored/unconfirmed
TBS: 42 rumored/unconfirmed
We don’t know how many of both lines are repacks/repaints, and if you remove the 4 additional TBS Credit Collection we just reported today, the balance overall is just barely in the Black Series favor. Interesting.
Hasbro has revealed a few new figures for the Black Series and Vintage Collection at this year’s Manga Barcelona con in Spain. Our long-standing rumors of the 6″ Count Dooku and Geonosis Battle Droid were officially confirmed and they unveiled another group of Vintage Collection repacks/repaints consisting of Anakin Skywalker (The Clone Wars), Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Clone Wars), Wicket and Darth Maul (The Phantom Menace). These join the other repacks/repaints revealed at the Lucca Comic & Games convention which were Han Solo (Bespin), Luke Skywalker (Bespin), General Lando Calrissian and C-3PO.

A long-standing question has been answered regarding the details for the rumored set of Skywalker Saga two packs that we revealed back in May. These sets were found on shelf at a Walmart in NY and they reveal that they are a series of gold-painted 3.75” figures on special black and gold foil cardbacks ($14.97 each). As a follow up to our original exclusive rumor report from April, we have acquired new UPCs and Walmart SKUs for the first wave of TVC figures slated to be released for Force Friday on October 4 for the official kick off of merchandise for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Interestingly, we found info for yet another Luke Skywalker from A New Hope that has a unique UPC from the Yavin Ceremony version which we first revealed in March. This could be either the Stormtrooper Disguise or X-wing pilot figure that were revealed at Star Wars Celebration, the latter of would make sense considering the release of his TVC X-wing Fighter this year.
We have also added the E9 assortment UPC and SKU (which will change for the Vintage Collection) to our Master List as well.
