The fan community was recently exposed to Hasbro’s upcoming Rebels line, which has been met with mixed results as so many of us prefer good articulation and more detailed sculpts with the Star Wars lines rather than what Hasbro revealed.
Soon after, we teamed up with Imperialshipyards.net to host a customizing event where fans can make their own Rebels themed customs and have a chance to win some cool prizes. While the number of entries has been somewhat modest thus far, the quality has been fantastic.
To check out the latest entries, click here – and remember, entries will be accepted until the end of April.
Our current Customizing Challenge is starting to kick into high gear as customizers across the fan community have created some amazing custom figures already in honor of Jabba the Hutt’s Entourage! Check out the latest submissions, or roll up your sleeves and create your own entry and show off your skills after the jump!
The guys at TwelfthParsec have written in to let us know about an update on their campaign to deliver some cool Ewok related items to the market (including playsets). They have met their fundraising goal, but have been able to extend their campaign a bit longer with some new stretch goals in mind, and for each goal met, contributors will get special perks with additional accessories with their order.
Read all about it here, and their campaign page can be accessed here. Better act quick if you want to get your hands on one of these sets though, the campaign ends in one week!
If you have been following along with our recent episodes of The Realm Recap, you’ll be familiar with the fact that I recently acquired a gorgeous custom 6’ Prototype Boba Fett from talented customizer Chris Veach. As I alluded to in the show, I thought how cool would it be to have a custom box to go along with it. So, after some quick prototyping (pun intended) I came up with a nice design to complement Chris’s work. Click on through for a complete gallery of images.
Another week has passed and it’s time for our look back at the latest news in Star Wars collecting. On this episode of The Realm Recap we chat about various customizing features including a one-off Black Series style box for a recent custom 6″ figure I acquired, pre-order solicitations from Sideshow, a canceled Darth Maul game and more. Click on through to check out the latest episode and feel free to subscribe to our channel and leave suggestions on what you’d like to see covered (more or less) on the show.
Also, if you prefer not to look at our ugly mugs, a downloadable MP3 is available as well.
Forum member GeekSummit has shared pics of several outstanding custom figures in the 6″ scale that he’s made – be sure to check these out, and share your thoughts after the jump!
Last month, we launched a joint Star Wars: Rebels customizing event with our friends at Imperialshipyards – and so far, we’ve had several great submissions, which you can check out here.
But the clock is ticking, as entries will only be accepted through the end of April! So if you’re interested in taking part in this customizing challenge, head on over to the forums for all the details.
A new Customizing Challenge is upon us, and we’re back to more Original Trilogy goodness with this one – Jabba’s Entourage! Of course though, as with all Yakfinities, customizers can branch out and create fan fiction characters, and certainly the prequels and Clone Wars characters that are part of Jabba’s gang are fair game too.
Whether you are a crafty veteran customizer or have never even attempted to make a custom figure, we welcome you to join in Yakfinities #52 – Jabba’s Entourage and show off what you’ve got! As always, we’ll have some random prize winners selected after this wraps up at the end of June.
The most recent Yakfinities Customizing Challenge has come to a close, and with 50 entries, there are plenty of great custom figures in our forum gallery for your viewing pleasure! Check our the Roundup Report in the forums, and see who is walking away with prizes!
Our very own localgotal strikes back with another stellar Concept Series update this week, and it’s one that a lot of fans have been hoping would see action figure form for decades now. While a bit of a controversial character, it’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t fit right in with the old Comic Packs format that Hasbro used to excel at. Chomping at the bit to see what this is? Then head on over to the forums and feast your eyes on this latest concept!
